Frequently asked questions

Where is Resewn Textiles based?

All items are handmade in the south of the UK

Check out our events page to see when what markets we’ll be attending!

How do you source your fabrics?

We pride ourselves on only using reclaimed materials for all our products. Our material is sourced from a variety of places, depending on availability! This could be anywhere from charity shops to clothes swaps, or Vinted to the back of your wardrobe. Checkout this post on Instagram for more detail!

All material is checked and washed before any sewing begins.

How long will it take to receive my order?

All products are handmade by Zoë who is currently balancing this passion alongside her full time job. Therefore, any custom orders will take longer to dispatch but timeframes will be discussed during your consultation. This is a 'slow fashion' business that prides itself on creating beautiful, unique, well-thought pieces. We can guarentee your custom order will be worth the wait!

If it is a 'ready-made' order, it will be dispatched within 1-2 working business days unless otherwise specified.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately we don’t have the capacity to ship internationally at the moment. We’re hoping to expand our reach outside of the UK in the future so please follow our social channels for the most up to date information!

Can I supply my own fabrics?

Yes, absolutely! We encourage you to use your own material for any custom orders and offer a discount on your order depending on the amount you are willing to provide.

You could use old clothes, bedsheets, tablecloths, curtains etc. As long as it’s in a usable state and clean.

Thank you for choosing to give your material a second chance 🫶

Do you take donations?

Yes! If you’ve got any large remnants, curtains, bedding, tablecloths or clothes you don’t want, feel free to pop us a message on our donations page!

How do commissions and custom orders work?

If you have something in particular in mind, we’re always open to having a chat about it. Head to our services page and fill in the request form and we’ll be in contact to discuss what you’d like.

Once we’ve received your request, we’ll be in touch to arrange a consultation where we can have a more in-depth chat about what you’d like and to discuss next steps.

What’s involved in a consultation?

Our consultations are a 1 hour long chat with Zoë where you’ll talk over your requirements for your custom orders, decide on materials, draw up any designs and go over next steps. This can be done over zoom or in person. If you’d like still have any questions, feel free to pop us a message or email hello@resewntextiles.co.uk

Can I cancel / change my order?

Once the order and materials have been agreed and you’ve accepted our quote, we will begin making your bespoke item, so for this reason we are unable to cancel or make any significant changes to orders. You may be able to make minor changes up to a certain point, so please contact us and we will see what we can do.

What is the return policy?

Unfortunately custom orders and commissions cannot be returned as they are made to order.

Ready-made items can be returned within 14 days - just pop us an email.

What is upcycling?

Upcycling is the process of transforming material into something new, unique and beautiful. This is usually done with existing materials such as clothing, bedsheets and tablecloths. Checkout our social media profiles or our blog for examples of upcycling transformations!

Why should I buy from you instead of a well known retail brand?

Here at Resewn Textiles, we practise slow fashion. Everything we make is created with care and kindness. Every item we sell is completely unique with its own story to tell. We value transparency in all our processes and you’ll likely find the history of your item on our social media, YouTube channel or blog posts. Our custom orders are also completely bespoke and unique to you; something you can treasure and show off to others.

But most of all, ordering from us means you’re choosing to help our planet by using existing material and allowing us to save more textiles from landfill and for that, we can’t thank you enough.

Why do your items cost more than the high street?

Our items are handmade carefully and thoughtfully by Zoë - a process which takes time and can’t compete with fast fashion. We will never endorse slave labour and charge based on how long it takes to sew the item.
